Burden/Krystal Camprubi 8/31/10 update

Yay me! I finally finished another page on Burden! This one has been a ufo for the longest time and I'm excited to get some progress done on him. I'm over halfway now with 13 of 25 pages done~

it's definitely August!

Aah, the dog days of summer are here, or at least they were lol. It was over 100 degrees every day for the past few weeks but finally has cooled down. It's a only 80 today so I got outside and tried to do some mowing. Note I said tried. Got stung by a red wasp and conceded the yard to them for now. It's time for some chemical warfare I think lol

I was faithfully stitching on my horses until I made a major boo-boo, counted wrong and ended up with a major frog session. Then one of my kittens slept on it and had to wash it. Rolls eyes, kittens learn that stuff early and she's definitely living up to her name-Princess! I brought out my oldest ufo to work on, Burden by HAED. I've almost finished another page on him so will have a pic to show soon! Maybe, just maybe I can get him finished this year, I've had him in the works since November 2006~

rose dream qs finished!

At long last she's finished! I put the last few stitches in her yesterday. Now she needs a bath in the worst way, but I couldn't resist taking a pic~so here is Rose Dream quick stitch by HAED

Rose Dream

I've finally gotten back to my stitching after a small break. This is what I've been working on, it's Rose Dream qs from HAED. I'm stitching it 1x1 on 25 count fabric. I don't know exactly when I started this one, it has 6 pages and on the third page it says that I started it(the page) in August of 2008.

This is Quaker Patchwork, I'm still loving this design so much. I'm using my pretty silks to stitch this one on 18 count aida. I figure I'm close to halfway done with it~

And this is HAED'S Dark Cherry from last year's freebie sal. As you can see I didn't do too well with it, lol I finally finished page 2 and got a small start on page 3. I'm not participating in the freebie sal this year, I've too many projects needing to get finished. I had to put the carousel horse up for awhile, the dreaded frog came to visit and I have to frog quite a few stitches out in that one, sigh~

This weekend is the themed sal for heaven and earth designs message board, the theme is background so I'd thought I'd drag this fellow out and put some stitches in. I only started this in October of 2006!! Hopefully I'll get if finished in my lifetime! lol, ;0)

update on Burden/haed

Here is Burden, I've finally almost reached the halfway mark! I've finished 12 of 25 pages, and I only started him 3 years ago lol!! I'm stitching him 1x1 on 28 count monaco which I will not be doing again anytime soon(1x1 on 28 count that is!) It's very tedious but worth the effort I think. I had hoped to get him finished by the end of this year but don't think that will be happening unless I buckle down and get hard at work on him. And I know that won't be happening, I'm like a butterfly flitting around from project to project, whatever makes me happy in the moment! Oh well, it's my hobby, I'll do it like I want to! ;0)

Dark Cherry/haed bb sal update

Here she is so far! I love this one, she's so pretty and so pink! I'm stitching her 1x1 on 25 count lugana, in a color called Lt. Rose. It's very close to the dmc #818 or 819 in color. I've already put her away, now I'm starting Papillon's new mystery sal for 2009 called Castles in the Air. It has lots and lots of specialty stitches in it & is going to last for 24 months. I'm just barely getting started and haven't even picked out all of the colors for it yet. I'm sort of doing it as I go along, picking what looks good as I get to it. I am using dmc as it is overwhelming to try to pick out hdf for this one(to me anyways lol) too many beautiful color choices with hdf. And I'm on a bit of a budget right now too so good old dmc it is! I'll post pics as I complete each month's installment, probably not in the month it came out as I'm already 2 months behind!!

Here is an update on my Dark Cherry for haed's bb freebie sal. I got quite a bit done this time around, hopefully I can get at least one full page done before the 3rd page comes out!

and here is haed's pirate dragon freebie, I finished this cute fellow up a few nights ago. He's stitched on 18 count aida. Not sure what I'm going to do with him, either frame him or make a pillow~

wolf update and new haed bb sal start

Here is the latest on my wolves, I've finished the 3rd in the row and have only 1 left to do! I've been doing the backstitching as I go as there is very little of it, only some around the eyes and ears. There are some french knots that go in the eyes but I'm waiting until the very end to do those so they don't get squished. I'm taking a break from these guys for the weekend as the 2009 sal for the haed bb is starting this weekend, got the first page of the chart tonight! This is my one allowed new start for the year and I'm excited to get started. I'm stitching Dark Cherry and she is soo pretty in the picture! I'll post an update after the weekend is over, hugs Christine
